Editorial standards & corrections
Our buying guides are meant to be genuinely useful and honest. Here is how we approach accuracy, and how to tell us when we get something wrong.
We write for buyers, not sellers
Our guides exist to help you make a good purchase, not to push a specific machine, brand, or seller. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any equipment manufacturer.
We don't invent numbers
Prices, hours, and capacities vary enormously by machine, region, and condition. Where we give ranges, they are described as approximate and for orientation only. We do not publish fabricated specifications, review counts, or statistics. When an exact figure matters, we tell you to verify it against manufacturer documentation or the specific machine.
Guidance is general, not an appraisal
Our content helps you know what to look for and what questions to ask. It is not a substitute for inspecting a specific machine, hiring a qualified inspector, or obtaining professional or financial advice for your situation.
We review and date our content
Each guide, category, and brand page carries a last-reviewed date so you can judge how current it is. We update pages as our understanding improves or as we receive corrections.
